About me
I’ve been working in the fitness world since the early 2000’s when I started teaching while pursuing my undergrad degree. I began teaching group fitness at the campus gym and loved it so much I talked my roommates, friends and classmates into going to classes. I loved the feeling after a challenging workout as well as a sense of com- munity with those in class doing it with me. At the same time I saw my own fitness level increase as I began training for marathons and triathlons.
I continued instructing even while living in Central and South America as well as through three pregnancies. I kept it up with an exercise class and personal training in Haiti. It must be a passion because I’ve taken it around the world.
I have chosen to go into the fitness industry in order to help others focus on how ex- ercising makes them feel rather than zeroing in on shrinking their bodies. Life is so much more than that! I have thankfully moved past dieting and extreme exercise to find a more balanced life. It is possible! All of us are completely capable of having a healthy, fit body without all that. Balance is the key. I believe women especially free up so much space in their lives when they find freedom from the bondage of negative body image and move toward healthy LIVING!
I am interested in helping others make lasting changes not just in the physical sense, but in mental, emotional and spiritual sense as they all tie together. Sozo is the Greek word for “whole, healed and well; It also translates as “new birth.” This is the goal – a transformation, something new and closer to wholeness.
Small-group training is about customizing workouts and the results of personal train- ing at a fraction of the cost but doing it alongside a few others. If you are looking for a way to workout with others but not ready to walk into the gym environment, consid- er small-group training. Also, I also offer nutrition coaching that can help expedite your transformation by evaluating your bad habits, shifting your mindset and ulti- mately overcoming root problems with sustainable strategies.
